Program Partners:
At ACE, an exciting, forward-thinking community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from across the Great Lakes region will gather to network, learn, and connect. ACE includes workshops, presentations, exhibits, awards, and more.
NEF is a co-founder of ACE and is a program partner in developing this year's ACE. For this tenth annual ACE, our members will be joined by hundreds of others – we encourage you to join us!
ACE began as a joint meeting between New Enterprise Forum and the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Great Lakes. First held in 2001 at the Eagle Crest Conference Center in Ypsilanti, the original meeting featured a broadcast from an MIT Enterprise Forum in Massachusetts, a Showcase Presentation from a company seeking angel/VC funding, and elevator pitches from several early stage entrepreneurial companies. Several other non-profit business support organizations lent their support to organizing and promoting the event.
The event eventually outgrew the Eagle Crest Conference Center and moved to Washtenaw Community College, and became ACE - the Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship. Due to continued growth, in 2010 ACE will be held for the first time at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor.
Now in its tenth year, the ACE '10 program includes:
- A Showcase Presentation by James Herbert, Ph.D., CEO of Neogen Corporation
- The ACE Elevator Pitch Competition: Six pitches, judged by an investor panel with the winner recognized
- Three Interactive Workshops
- Presentation of the Phase I Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest Awards
- Exhibit Hall with Entrepreneurial Company Displays and Very Early Stage Poster Presentations
- Intercollegiate Pitch Competition
- Presentation of Great Lakes Entrepreneur's Quest Awards
- Refreshments and Networking
